2011 Hyundai Verna Launched in India

The CEO and President of Hyundai recently announced about the setting up of their new diesel engine facility in India. The new Hyundai Verna which launched today features almost everything that you could ask for. The car powertrain includes four different engine options, which include a 1.4 crdi engines delivering 90ps power, the 1.6 crdi delivering 128ps power, the 1.4 VTVT engine delivering 107ps power and lastly the 1.6 VTVT engine delivering 123ps power.

Moreover, the 1.6l engines have class leading specs, with both of them having a 4 speed automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the 1.4l diesel engine reportedly has a mileage of 23.5kmpl, while the 1.4l petrol engine has a mileage of 23.5kmpl. Arvind Saxena, the director of Marketing and Sales said that other features which the Verna boasts of include iPod connectivity, 6 air bags, camera to assist reversing, climate control, 16 inch alloy wheels, keyless entry.

The new Hyundai Verna also received full five star ratings from China NCAP. Moreover, you can choose between 10 different trim levels, each level making your wallet lighter by Rs.60,000. For the automatic variant however, you will have to shell out Rs.70,000, available only on the high end spec. Prices for the Hyundai Verna begin from Rs.6.99 lakh onwards.

1.6 – Rs.7.64 lakhs
1.6 SX – Rs. 8.24 lakhs
1.6 SX (o) – Rs. 8.95lakhs
1.6 SX (o) AT – Rs.9.65 lakhs

Hyundai Verna Diesel Prices:

1.4 – Rs.8 lakhs
1.6 – Rs.8.75 lakhs
1.6 SX – Rs9.35 lakhs
1.6 SX (o) – Rs.10.0 lakhs
1.6 SX (o) AT – Rs.10.75 lakhs

The prices that Hyundai announced for the Verna, however are introductory and can be expected to change. As for the new diesel engine plant, Hyundai reported that they have invested around Rs.400 crores. The plant will have a production capacity of 45,000 in this year.
