Global attention on Indian automotive market is perhaps at its peaks today with urbanized markets either declining or stagnant. India is one of the few markets in the world that is growing and gas enormous growth potential in the coming years. Countdown for 2012 Auto Expo to be held between 5th and 11th of January 2012 has started. A huge surge of abroad participation, larger bodies from China and Germany, besides strong presence of Indian automobile manufacturing companies have resulted in full booking of space in Delhi, outdoor space, 16 halls and 10 hangers in total consisting of 1,15,000 square meters, aligning with theme of Mobility for All, Mr. Rajive Kaul, Chairman at Steering committee at Auto Expo said.
S. Sandilya, President at SIAM stated that almost all global automakers has presence in the Indian market and firms who do not yet have presence in India are likely to enter soon. With present lull in the industry, the 2012 Auto Expo will aim for generating excitement and fulfil aspirations of Indian customers with theme of Mobility for All and will position India as champion of Green Mobility with focus on Hybrid and Electric Mobility, alternative fuel and more. Tyre manufacturing companies such as Michelin, MRF, Pirelli, JK, Dunlop, Apollo, Continental and more also have carved space in the Indian automotive market. Augmented attention on India is result of marvellous expansion shown by India, particularly when international markets are spooling under severe economic downturns.
Exhibitors from automotive component market have strong presence in 2012 Auto Expo. Quite a few component manufacturing companies from Canada, Belarus, France, People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Germany, Malaysia, Japan, Portugal, Netherlands, Switzerland, Russia, Thailand, Singapore, UAE and Turkey will be participating in 11th Auto Expo. This Auto Expo will notice introduction of around 50 cars besides display of class-leading vehicles of the world and their designs. India specific merchandises are likely to be revealed simultaneously for the first time in India. The component producing firms will be introducing most significant improvements in respective fields.
2012 Auto Expo is together planned by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Automotive Component Manufacturers Association along with Confederation of Indian Industry. It is the only event in India endorsed by Organization Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles. The International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers was established in the year 1919 in Paris and its membership consists of 41 local trade organizations across the world with all major vehicle manufacturing nations. Approximately 1500 participants from 24 nations will be participating in the event. Firms from People Republic of China, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, Italy and United Kingdom have confirmed their participation. Besides ground-breaking additions to the 2012 Auto Expo, it would have its typical focused pavilions, including pavilions for audio, accessories, gas technologies, alternate fuel, IT, design, garage equipment, diesel and famous ‘asli-naqli’ pavilion.
Mr. Vikram Kirloskar, Vice President at Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers said that, like in the past this Auto Expo will also glass case future cars, which will be introduced to the Indian market in the coming years and months and it is hoped that event will be forerunner of revitalization of industry in 2012.
