At last General Motors has launched the new Tavera Neo 3 for the Indian market. The MUV (Multi Utility Vehicle) has been fitted with a BS III engine and has more emission control over its engine to abide by the latest BS III standard of emission. Other than BS III, a BS IV versionhas also been launched. This is the successor of the Tavera and Tavera 2, which has been highly commended for its fuel efficiency, high comfortability, and low maintenance.The base price of the new Tavera Neo 3 has been fixed at Rs.6.72 lacs.
Tavera Neo 3 (BS III) has a TCDi 2.5 liter four-cylinder direct injection turbo diesel engine, which gives a maximum output of 80 ps at 3900 rpm and a peak torque of 186 Nm at 1800 rpm, which has been mated to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The engine is made on the Isuzu technology which is very light and produces less noise. The low end torque of the vehicle increases its carrying capacity. The 4435mm long, 1680mm wide and 1765mm tall Tavera 3 has a wheel base of 2685mm which carries a 55.2 liter fuel tank into itself. With disc brakes on front and drum brakes in the rear, this car is a pleasure to maneuver around the roads. The BS IV emission engine will give 106.8 ps of power at 4000 rpm on a peak torque of 263.7 Nm and it will run on tubeless tires measuring 205/65 R15. This will also be having a 55.2 liter of fuel tank.
When we look at the exterior, the vehicle has absolutely new 15-inches alloy wheels, which adds on to the beauty. With double tone color graphics makes it more charming and adorned by Chevrolet emblem on its front and rear makes it look separate from the crowd. The bulls bar gives it a robust look, but also adds on to the safety of the structure of the vehicle. The big headlamps put ample light on the road under tough weather conditions letting the driver go with ease as well as adds an atheistic touch to the vehicle’s exterior.
An icy blue illumination gives it the extra charm along with the double tone finish on the dashboard is certainly something that makes the car look quite upmarket from the inside. A double cockpit pattern gives a lot of leg room to the passengers on the front. The interior may not have much space for additional fittings, but it still gives a lot of comfort on long drives. Coat pegs, comfortable seats, cup holders on central console and vanity mirror gives a relaxed feeling when traveling with the family. The vehicle has been fitted withRCL (Remote control locking) system and fuel filler for the additional safety. Front and rear power windows are the best thing to have in this vehicle with a defogger for the rear window. This MUV has been primarily designed to fit an Indian family with comfort in its 7 seats. The side impact doors and seat belts add to the safety of the vehicle in case of a mishap.
This new entrant is available in eight different shades which are Sandrift Grey, Linen Beige, Caviar black + Linen Beige, Velvet Red, Moonbeam White, Summit White, Moonbeam While + Linen Beige and Caviar Black.
