Japanese automaker Honda has few good reasons to celebrate Christmas as its SUV CR-V has bagged the title of 4×4 of the year from the prestigious publication, Total 4×4. This is the first ever award received by the 2013 Honda CR-V that was recently revealed in UK. The 2013 CR-V is manufactured at the Honda’s Swindon plant is on sale in UK market.
The competition was quite tough and magazine put Honda against the several key rivals in the segment. Sweeping the rivals aside it grabbed the best of the best title. This is really an incredible achievement for the new vehicle.
The 4×4 magazine uses comprehensive standards to test the vehicles on different parameters that range from the interior quality to comfort and repeated drive on the same route by the judges. The editor of the Magazine, Alan Kidd said that it was first time ever that there were too many likely candidates for the overall title. He further added that the moment they entered in the CR-V they have known that it had hit the jackpot. The interior quality of the 2013 Honda CR-V is on par with the best cars and provides more flexibility.
He also said that it is not very common that a newbie has that much to offer. But Honda CR-V offered more than we could even think. Speaking on the honor, Managing Director of Honda (UK), Mr. Dave Hodgetts said that the first award for the CR-V is really something fantastic in this festive season. He also hoped that there are much more of awards that will follow their flagship SUV. The new CR-V is now at the dealership with the starting price of about 21,395 pounds (approx. Rs. 19.04 lakh) for the base 2.0 i-VTEC S Grade 2WD model. The 2013 Honda CR-V has already made its way to South Africa and is also expected to be launched in India. The car may witness the Indian launch by early 2013.
