2014 Jaguar XJ that was unveiled at Delhi Auto Expo 2014 is said to be seeing the official bookings with amount as low as Rs 5 lakh, whilst of deliveries to commence in June 2014.
However, the 2014 Jaguar XJ is said to be assembled in India at the brands’ Pune manufacturing facility. The CKD kits will be imported into the country to see the cut in costs.
The all-new Jaguar XJ will be a host of both, diesel as well as petrol engines. The diesel engine will be of 3.0-litre six-cylinder producing 271bhp @ 4000rpm and 600Nm of maximum torque, with sprint from not to100kmph in just 6.4 seconds, whilst of the top-speed of 250kmph. The diesel engine will return fuel efficiency of 12.9kmpl.
On the flipside, the petrol engine in 2014 Jaguar XJ will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged motor producing maximum power of 236.7bhp @ 5,500rpm and 340Nm of maximum torque. The 0-100kmph mark on this car will reach in 7.5 seconds alongside a top-speed of 241kmph, returning a fuel-economy of 9.4kmpl.
Both, the petrol and diesel trims are said to see a marriage of an eight-speed automatic transmission sending the power to rear wheels. Hence, Jaguar is planting the 2014 XJ as a stiff rival to the new Mercedes S Class, yet-to-arrive 2014 Audi A8 facelift, and the yesteryear launched BMW 7-Series facelift in India.
