2014 new Jazz is one of the most promising cars for Honda in India. Hope so, it may have received good responses at its debut on the paddock of Delhi Auto Expo 2014, and that’s why soon after the unveiling spy-shots have appeared on internet.
The spied vehicle is clear off the camouflages, and is expected to have been arrived at one of the Honda dealerships.
However, the launch is not so nearby as thought of, the Japanese carmaker has replied to be launching the redesigned hatchback in the last quarter of the FY-2014-15, so it means the Jan-Mar 2015 will probably be the time to see it rolling out.
Confirming engine details, the 2014 Jazz will be sporting the same 1.2-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC of Brio but with 88 PS and 109 Nm of torque. On the flipside, a new addition to the list will be the diesel variants of Jazz which will be occupied with the 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC motor of Amaze producing the same 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. However, petrol variants will be given the choices of 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automatic transmission, while the diesel owners has to cope up only with the 5-speed manual, no automatics for them.
Confirming the mileage, the same diesel engine of 1.5L on Amaze delivers 25.8 km/l (with 5-speed manual) whereas on new City it gives 26 km/l (with 6-speed manual). Hope so, if this sort of trend will be followed with the 2014 Jazz too, then the Honda’s hatchback will be the country’s most fuel-efficient car of that category.
