We previously reported about the Porsche’s upcoming SUV, Macan that will be sent for production towards the end of 2013 calendar. With months to go before the 2014 Macan rolls out, the anticipation gets hotter with spy images and renderings. The previously snapped spy images of the Macan prototype have been rendered to give a more production-ready appearance.
Dan Buzdugan of PS-Garage has made an attempt to give an accurate glimpse of the upcoming Porsche SUV. Translating from the images, the 2014 Macan is a compact crossover, which is largely based on the Porsche Cayenne SUV. It also appears that the Macan has undergone serious diet to give a sportier and aggressive guise. While the turn indicators look cooler than on the prototype, the LED on the air dams appear strange.
Coming as a 2014 model, the 2014 Porsche Macan SUV will be launched toward the end of 2013 calendar year. It will be a compact crossover positioned below Porsche’s flagship SUV, the Cayenne. There is no word on the power plant option , but we speculate the Macan to come with a string of engine options. There could be a 2.0-liter TFSI giving 220 hp, a 3.6-liter V6 giving 295 hp and a top-of-the-line twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 for a good 370 hp. For the diesel option, Porsche could sport a 250 hp turbocharged diesel motor. With world’s luxury automakers migrating towards hybrid power plant option for their future lineup, there is a possibility that Porsche could offer a 190 hp hybrid power plant for the Macan SUV.
