The French automaker showcased the new 2014 Renault Fluence at Delhi Auto Expo this year. The company has already started production of the vehicle at its Oragadam, Chennai plant and the car will hit showrooms by 19th March. The Renault Fluence is a sedan positioned between the upper-mid range segment and compact family vehicle segment. It now features the company’s new styling identity and integrates LED daytime running lights which contribute to its modern yet dynamic look. With a wide wheelbase, it is comfortable, practical and built for all uses. The Fluence is a vehicle with strong international potential. Currently, it is built at the plants in Bursa (Turkey), Busan (South Korea), Cordoba (Argentina) and Moscow (Russia) as well as at Renault-Nissan Alliance plant in Chennai (India).
The 2014 Renault Fluence will be offered in two different variants with a diesel engine: the E2 and E4. The 1.5 liter diesel powerplant is good for producing 110PS of power with 240 newton meters of torque. It is teamed up with a 6-speed manual transmission and the fuel efficiency is claimed 20.4 kilometers per litre. The 2.0 AT petrol version though will be offered in a single variant. The chrome/gloss black inserts and LED daytime running lights contribute to the newcomer’s modern appeal. The exterior gets revisions in the form of redesigned headlamps, a new front grille, new bumpers incorporated with foglights, a new design for 16 inch alloys and bigger Renault logo.
The cabin is as roomy as ever and has been enhanced by the use of new upholsteries for segment-topping comfort. The interior design is also more modern with features such as illuminated glove box, a soft touch dashboard, touch screen entertainment system, stereo system with mp3/radio/Bluetooth connectivity, engine stop & start button, follow me headlamps, 4 airbags for protecting passengers in an event of a crash and electrically adjustable side mirrors. The on-board technologies and contemporary styling of this 3-volume sedan car, which is poised to continue the model’s international career, have been designed to match the needs of its customers as closely as possible. The automaker’s next major introduction in India will be the redesigned Duster sports utility vehicle with a 4X4 configuration in tow. The redesigned Duster is the company’s best-selling car vehicle in India and will be launched ahead of this year’s festive season.
