Chevrolet Sail hatchback and its sedan get a mild makeover for the festive season of 2014. Priced between Rs 4.63 and Rs 7.14 lakh for hatchback, Sail sedan is tagged between Rs 5.45 and Rs 8.02 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai.
Hence, the change is subtle in nature. Hatchback gets slightly tampered head and tail lamps, redesigned B-pillar, new alloys and use of chrome in the fog-lamps cluster at front.
Inside the cabin, it gets dual-tone themed interiors with new steering wheel. Chrome can be spotted in and around the gear-lever, door handle enclosure and air-con vents. The 2-DIN audio system is taken from Beat. As per official reports, company is found claiming of improved plastic grain quality on hatchback and sedan both.
Under the bonnet, engine options are carried over from existing models. The 1.2-litre SMARTECH petrol produces 83.6PS @ 6000rpm and 108.5NM of torque @ 5000 rpm, and 1.3-litre SDE SMARTECH turbo-charged diesel churns out 75PS @ 4,000rpm and 190Nm of torque @ 1,750rpm.
As per official numbers, diesel machine delivers fuel-economy of 22.1 km/l and petrol of 18.2 km/l.
