Honda Cars India launched its much-awaited vehicle Jazz in India at the starting price of Rs. 5.30 lakhs. The automaker originally launched the vehicle in 2009, but they failed to live up to the competition, in spite of having a capable model. Unavailability and high pricing of diesel variant were the two main reasons for Jazz’s failure. Nonetheless, Honda has got over with it, by introducing the all-new Jazz.
With an attractive price tag, the 2015 Honda Jazz is motivated by one of the most fuel efficient diesel engines in the league. It is available in five different trim levels; these include E, S, SV, V and range-topping VX. Developed and designed on a fully new platform, the Jazz gets a larger wheelbase and is lil’ longer. Some of the exterior features include grille with chrome lining, piano black finish, little different side profile with blackened B and C pilars, front fascia gets city-inspired headlights with incorporated static bending lights, OVRMs (outside rear view mirrors) with turn indicators, 15-inch alloy wheels, roof-mounted spoiler, large windscreen with chrome bar and LED taillamps.
On the inside, the 2015 Honda Jazz adds black dashboard, leather-wrapped gear lever, 12.7cm display for navigation and audio systems, steering wheel with audio and phone control buttons, instrument cluster with blue illumination and LCD, black/beige seat upholstery depending on the trim level. With the wheelbase of 2530mm, width of 1694mm, height of 1594mm and length of 3955mm, the all-new Jazz is the most spacious vehicle in its segment, offering 354 litres of boot space.
The 2015 Honda Jazz comes with two engine choices: i-VTEC 1.2 liter petrol and i-DTEC 1.5 liter diesel – both of which motivate the Amaze too. The diesel engine is teamed up with a six-speed manual transmission and pumps out 99bhp with 200 newton meters of torque, while the petrol version is mated to five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission, generating 89bhp with 109 newton meters.
Aforementioned, the Honda Jazz is one of the most fuel efficient vehicles in its class, delivering the fuel economy of 27.3 kilometers per litre. Standard safety features on Jazz include Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution for petrol auto; passenger side and front airbags. The Jazz is offered with 7 color options, namely, Carnelian Red Pearl, Sunset Orange, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, White Orchid Pearl and Tafetta White.
