Those who ever thought Mercedes-Benz is on the spree of bringing only new models to the line-up, they must think again. The AMG department of German automaker had just rolled out official images of C63 AMG which is the performance version of new C-Class. However, at the beginning stage this AMG rear-wheel drive version shall be available only in Germany, which then will be rolled-out to various markets in the coming days, followed by a 4Matic all-wheel drive version soon.
Landing affirm on the speculations, a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 lifted from Mercedes-Benz AMG GT headed into its bay producing 469hp/479 lb-feet. The more powerful version C63 S is sounded of producing a hefty 503hp/516 lb-foot. Comparatively, the older version was provided with 451hp from 6.2-liter V8. In fact, a 7-speed automatic, specifically the AMG SpeedShift MCT, gearbox is given standard.
All the goodies in engine bay enable C63 AMG to cross 0-100km/h in 4.2 seconds restricting to a top-speed of 250km/h.
Cosmetically, AMG kit added to the C-Class has believably made to dwell the performance attire. New front grille, bonnet, side skirts, rear aprons and quad-exhaust pipes are complementing it. The 18-inch alloys and LED headlamps with high-performance duty takes it further.
The drivability is aided with three driving modes: Sport+, Sport, Comfort and Individual. The other goodies inside cabin are bounded of AMG repertoire. Steering wheel and pedals are perfectly blended to give that racy feel. An impressive TFT display along with race timer is standard; while those who wished for a head-up display needed to pay extra.
