There was a surprise guest at ZDAYZ, the annual gathering of hundreds of Nissan, Nismo and Datsun enthusiasts and owners – the world launch of the 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo. A solid progress for 2015, the model features performance, interior and exterior refinements, in addition to an expanded model selection, which includes both a 370Z Nismo Tech grade and a 6-speed and 7-speed automatic transmissions.
Andy Palmer, Executive Vice President and Chief Planning Officer at Nissan said: “Nismo is the heart and soul of Nissan Performance, both on the street and for the track, so it’s fitting that we are showing the dramatic Nismo for the first time at a gathering of our most loyal and enthusiast owners.” “The Nissan 370Z Nismo joins the recently launched GT-R Nismo and Juke Nismo RS giving performance fans a range of factory tuned, fresh models to enjoy.”
2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo
The most striking change for the 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo is its redesigned exterior design. Its GT-R inspired fully incorporated aerodynamic and functional body pieces have been redesigned for providing a more aerodynamic and aggressive new appearance, in addition to optimizing rear and front downforce.
Key changes include a signature Nismo red stripe accent on the incorporated front chin spoiler, Nismo emblem, black headlamp bezels and a new deep front fascia with LED Hyper Daytime Running Lights. The red accent continues down the revised side sills on the black color sideview mirrors and across the lower portion of the revised rear fascia. The distinctive Nismo rear spoiler has been downsized and reshaped.
The standard Nismo 19 inch forged aluminum super lightweight alloy wheels by RAYS also have been redesigned with a charcoal gray machine finish and a twin-5-spoke design. Inside the distinctive Nismo-styled interior is improved with revised red and black Recaro leather appointed seats with Alcantara accents. The new Recaro seats are uniquely designed for the 370Z Nismo for providing superior all-direction holding and more uniform body pressure during cornering, braking and spirited acceleration.
They also play a key role in delivering driving excitement by maximizing the harmony between machine and driver. The cabin also features red seat trim and stitching with Nismo logo, Nismo red tachometer and leather wrapped Alcantara appointed steering wheel.
Also new for 2015 is the Tech model, which adds Rearview Monitor, a hard drive-based Nissan Navigation System with seven-inch VGA touch-sensitive display, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bose Stereo System, auto-dimming rearview mirror, HomeLink Universal Transceiver and Streaming Audio via Bluetooth.
As in previous years, the 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo is motivated by a DOHC 3.7 liter V6 engine with VVEL (Variable Valve Event and Lift Control), which is good for churning out 350 horsepower with 276 pound feet of torque. The engine is matched with muffler tuning, an optimized calibration is installed to help create 18 horsepower more than a standard 370Z Coupe and an exclusive, tuned H-configured exhaust system design.
Two transmission choices are available for the first time on the Z NISMO model. The close-ratio six-speed manual transmission gets standard SynchroRev Match, the world’s first synchronized downshift rev matching manual gearbox, which enables rev-matched heel-toe-like downshifting. Newly available is a refined seven-speed automatic with Adaptive Shift Control, manual shift mode with shift paddles and DRM (Downshift Rev Matching).
The 2015 Nissan 370Z Nismo is equipped with Nismo-branded strut tower brace for improved body rigidity, a pair of performance dampers to help minimize road-input vibrations and help contribute to the high levels of performance and handling feel and a refined four-wheel independent suspension. The NISMO tuned suspension includes special stabilizer bars and springs. A VLSD (Viscous Limited-Slip Differential) and Large Nissan Sport Brakes with a shorter final drive ratio for superior acceleration feel are also standard.
The 370Z is available in just four exterior colors –Magnetic Black, Solid Red, Pearl White and Brilliant Silver, and is all set to go on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide this July.
“There’s much more to love about the 370Z NISMO than ever before – the new appearance inside and out, new wheels, enhanced handling, a choice of transmissions and more technology, added Palmer.” “Our fans here at ZDAYZ want only the best and that’s what this new 370Z NISMO delivers.”
