Duster, the bread and butter of Renault India, now received a minor push for 2015. It’s not the new Duster what we were waiting for; instead Renault launched the 2015 Duster in India with minute tweaks and additions of features certainly to keep the ball rolling down the sales floor with excitement. Cosmetically same on the outside, inside the front row passenger receives armrest, soft dashboard and new upholstery for the seat. Also the owners will be able to save more fuel, as it comes loaded with an Eco-Mode that claim better fuel-economy by 10%. Multi-function steering-wheel, cruise control, speed-sensitive door-lock, new steering column and instrument cluster, information display with gear-shift indicator and service-reminder are some other new features that the owners of FWD Duster owner will enjoy. In fact, some of them are carried from the expensive AWD Duster.
Under the hood, 2015 Duster is as same as the current model. A petrol engine of 1.6-litre worth 103bhp, and 1.5-litre K9k diesel in two states of tune – 85bhp and 110bhp – are still found doing their duty. The fuel-efficiency figures now improved by various notches: 19.64kpl from the powerful 110bhp diesel, and 19.87kpl from the lower-spec motor.
Priced at Rs 8.30 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, the company hasn’t intended about the launch of new Duster, but rather stated the launch of Lodgy MPV to happen soon, and a compact car by end of this year.
