When the Beetle was first introduced in India back in 2009, it did not get the kind of attention it deserved and fell off the radar afterwards. Well now it seems Volkswagen is ready to take another chance with the car in the Indian market as news reports doing rounds indicate that the new 2015 Beetle would be brought to the country by December this year.
The new Beetle is somewhat evolved and tries to shed its ‘doll car’ image with a bigger body and lower height. The car also gets new and bigger wheels, a smart roofline as well as new bumpers to kind of complete the outer redesign. Although, around the world the new Beetle is available for purchase since 2011, and has been fitted with turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, we don’t yet know if that would be the case for India as well.
The new Beetle, like its predecessor, will be sold though the CBU route will cost somewhere around the Rs.30 – 40 lakh mark.
