Force Motors has launched the 2017 Force Gurkha with updated BS-IV engine in India for a price of Rs.8.38 lakhs for the 5-door Xpedition variant and Rs.9.36 lakhs for the 3-door Xplorer variant. Under the hood of the car comes with a OM 616 sourced 2.6-litre inter-cooled, direct injection, turbocharged BS-IV compliant engine. This engine now produces 85bhp of peak power and 230Nm of peak torque, mated to a G-28 five-speed manual transmission.
The most unique design feature of the 2017 Gurkha is the snorkel like air intake. The unique air intake design is to make sure that there is ample supply of clean air to the engine and also that no dirt and dust gets into it. The snorkel also gives Gurkha a high water wading ability of up-to 550mm, unmatched by any other vehicle in this category.
The Force Gurkha would compete against Mahindra Thar in India.
