The Ford Freestyle has finally been launched in India starting at Rs.5.09 lakhs and going up to Rs.6.94 lakhs for the petrol version and Rs.7.89 lakhs for the diesel version.
The petrol engine is the new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Dragon unit that churns out 96hp and 120Nm of peak torque and the diesel unit is the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TDCi engine that produces 100hp and 215Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is, in fact, the most powerful one in this segment. Both engines are mated to a new Getrag-sourced five-speed manual gearbox.
The Freestyle is based on the Figo hatch and comes with some off-road capabilities. Design features include body cladding. Roof rails and skid plates. Up front the car has a new design, which will also be seen in the upcoming Figo hatch and Aspire sedan.
