Triumph Motorcycles, the Premium British motorcycle maker launched its popular performance street motorcycle the Street Triple RS for Rs 11.13 lakh. The previous model, too, was sold at a similar price tag. It features an all-new more aggressive styling along with a major step up in performance from a significant engine update developed by Triumph’s Moto2TM engine team The bike now comes with BS VI compliant upgraded engine made with the new styling.
The 2020 Triumph Street Triple RS is claimed to be coming with significant updates. It gets an upgraded 765 cc engine, developed by Triumph’s Moto2TM engine team. The BS VI compliant engine is capable of churning out 123 PS of power at 11,750 rpm and peak torque of 79 Nm at 9,350 rpm. The six-speed gearbox is equipped with a slipper and an assist clutch function. The Triumph Shift Assist bi-directional quick-shifter has been added as standard to the 2020 Street Triple RS. Triumph claims, the updated motorcycle churns out 9 percent extra power and 9 percent extra torque as well.
The latest version of the Street Triple RS features an updated design that comprises of new, aggressive-looking headlights and DRLs, new fly screen, revised bodywork and a redesigned exhaust with carbon fibre finisher. Buyers can select between two color options – Matt Jet Black with Aluminium Silver and Yellow decals or Silver Ice with Diablo Red and Aluminium Silver decals.
The 2020 Street Triple RS gets several tech-upgrades, and the motorcycle now comes with a Bluetooth-enabled colour-TFT screen. The MyTriumph connectivity system software gives access to functions such as GoPro interaction, turn-by-turn navigation and phone and music operation. The electronic rider aids include five riding modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider configurable), adjustable ABS and switchable traction control. The Rain mode restricts the power output to 98.6bhp.
Being the flagship model of the Street Triple range, the RS version comes with premium hardware such as 41mm Showa big piston front forks and Öhlins STX40 piggyback reservoir mono-shock rear suspension – both fully adjustable. The Street Triple RS features Brembo M50 4-piston radial monobloc front calipers and a Brembo ratio and span adjustable brake lever, plus a Brembo sliding rear caliper. The tyres are Pirelli’s latest generation high-performance Diablo Supercorsa SP v3 tyres.
