2021 Mini Hatchback, Convertible & John Cooper Works (JCW) Launched In India At Rs 38 Lakh

Mini launches the 2021 three-door hatchback, convertible and the John Cooper Works (JCW) in India at Rs 38 lakh, ex-showroom (starting price). Bookings for the new Mini Hatch and the Mini Convertible can be made online at the brand’s website.

Models & Pricing Hatchback: Rs 38 Lakh, Convertible: Rs 44 Lakh and JCW: Rs 45.50 Lakh. The new Mini features changes to its front fascia. This includes a new grille design, reworked headlamps and a front bumper. The rear of the car features British-flag inspired Union Jack graphics on the tail lamps. The rear fog light is now placed just above the twin exhaust in the centre. Other styling elements include piano black inserts around the grille, headlamp surrounds, door handles, ORVMs and more.

Other features include LED headlamps, LED taillamps, Hood scoop, All-around body cladding, LED DRLs / turn-signal indicators and 17-inch alloy wheels. Customers can choose from three different alloy wheel designs offered by the brand on both models. John Cooper Works: the new JCW features a new hexagonal radiator grille with a red stripe in the centre section. The hot-hatch continues to feature the exclusive John Cooper Works bonnet stripes, contrasting finish on the roof, and mirror caps for a race-inspired look. All other features are shared between the standard Mini hatchback. However, JCW customers get an option to upgrade to 18-inch alloy wheels.

The overall design and layout of the interiors on the new Mini has not changed much from the previous model. The cabin continues to feature a round-shaped theme. To tell it apart, the JCW variant features sport seats and a dark interior theme with contrasting red or white stitching to give the cabin a sporty look. Other interior features include 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 5-inch instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Ambient lighting, Harmon Kardon audio system and Cruise control. Engine & Transmission All variants of the new Mini come with a 2-litre, four-cylinder, twin-turbo petrol engine.

The JCW’s engine, however, is in a higher state of tune. For 3-Door & Convertible Max power: 189bhp @ Peak torque: 280Nm @ 4,600rpm Transmission: 7-Speed DCT 0 to 100kmph: 7.1 seconds Mileage: 17.33 km/l (Claimed). John Cooper Works Max power: 228bhp, Peak torque: 320 Nm @ 4,800rpm Transmission: 8-Speed Steptronic Sport Transmission, 0 to 100kmph: 6.1 seconds and Mileage: 16.47 km/l (Claimed). Drivers can choose between three drive modes: Mid, Sport and Green. All models and variants come equipped with a host of safety features.

This includes: Front and Passenger Airbag, Brake Assist Park assist with rear camera, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Runflat Indicator, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and Cornering Brake Control.
