BMW is currently selling the second generation of the X1 in India and it has done fairly well since its debut. The X1 has helped BMW in India to keep its sales volume high, with its entry-level pricing in the crossover-SUV segment. Let us learn more about BMW X1.
The third generation of the BMW X1 has just been revealed globally and it showcases the new designs, features, and the pure electric powertrain it gets with the updates.
Visually, the change is evident on the X1, with the new shaped LED DRLs & larger grille vents. The body panels on the side profile showcase beefier wheel arches and new alloy wheels. The X1 also gets the premium flush door handles, as seen on the upcoming flagship sedan the -7 Series.
The third-generation X1 has grown in dimensions as well. The crossover now boasts an increment of 22 mm in terms of wheelbase, which means more space in the cabin. The X1 is wider too when compared to the ongoing production model.
In terms of comfort and convenience features, the X1 will get a new touchscreen infotainment setup and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
The X1 will receive similar powertrain options as the ongoing production model. In addition, the X1 will feature a pure electric hybrid model and possibly some hybrid tech additions to the diesel and petrol engines to further increase the efficiency and power figures.
The pure electric iX1 will be powered by dual electric motors which will deliver a power output of 313 HP & 493 Nm of torque. The 64.7 kWh battery pack will be capable of offering a driving range of 437 Km. it will support up to 130 kW fast charging to reduce the recharge time.
With the launch of the BMW i4 in India, we feel confident BMW will certainly bring the iX1 to India along with its diesel and petrol powertrain options.
The third generation of the X1 is expected to launch later next year by 2023.
