26.4 percent growth for Skoda Auto in Jan 2011

Volkswagen’s sister concern, Skoda Auto has been in the Indian market since the year 2000. Apart from the high quality and high value cars that the Czech automaker makes, they also provide for some of the best cars in the business. Notably so, the year started on a good note for the Czech company with 68,400 units of sales. For the same time previous year, the company could muster only 54,100 units.

The vehicle models contributing to this growth were the new Superb as well as the refreshed Skoda Fabia. The company has mustered a double digit rise in profits from Russia, India as well as the Chinese markets. Skoda chief for sales and marketing, Mr Jürgen Stackmann mentioned that the company is looking to double sales and probably by 2018 would want to spread out to rest of the regions of the world. He also emphasized on the point that the new Fabia is playing a crucial role in the forward growth of the company. As always in homeland Czech Republic, Skoda is the numero uno. It has got about a 1.2 percent growth in that country. The best part was that in Belgium, Skoda registered a growth rate of 120.3 percent. It is rumored that in this year, the company is in process of launching two new models or iterations or its existing crop.
