The new BMW X1 had finally broken the cover. Not quite distinct on the outer, there are several changes which it wears in comparison to the past model; yet, a lot of similarities found.
Starting from the front, it got the prominent front grille, LED headlamps, new bumper, plastic body cladding, gentle slope on the roof, tailgate mounted spoiler and others. Technically, on the basis of measurements provided, the compact SUV of BMW had grown in height, width and wheelbase, but is reduced in length. Even the overhangs are reduced making it more aggressive for a better drive. Despite the reduction in overall length, the increase in boot space and enhanced knee room for rear passengers are the major workouts that make this vehicle friendlier than before.
The new features are added; the power lift tail gate and power folded rear seats are the couple of best examples. Apart from the standard variants, M Sport package (optional) will also go on sale boasted with M Steering wheel and sport seats backed by racetrack tuned suspension.
Hence, the major change on 2016 X1 is followed in its drive train. Replacing the rear wheel drive, the basic variants of 2016 X1 are done away with the front wheel drive as standard, while the rest in lineup use all-wheel drive as standard. The engine option had excluded the 1.5L option this time, but still the said option hangs over the model to barge at a near future.
The real show for all-new BMW X1 is awaited at Frankfurt Motor Show 2016.
