In the league where Toyota cars could do better with more features and a new design, Japanese carmaker has announced to make airbags standard across all variants of the lineup. Initially, this rule (of airbags) was applied for Etios Liva hatchback, now it is the time for Innova and others to undergo the similar treatment. It will be dual-front airbags even for the G trim (of Innova) as a safety move.
The list of upgrades is also touted to get generous with the rear AC vents, apart from those airbags.
However, the company will not be going this generous safety cause at its own cost. Instead, the prices are expected bump on the customer’s end by Rs 40,000 than the current versions.
Hence, it will be interesting to see how such a strategic move will work results out of the crash crunching market; whether safety really matters for Indians?
