The Aston Martin DP-100 – a stunning new addition to Gran Turismo 6 (GT6) revealed.
At present, the DP-100 is only a virtual treat developed by the Aston Martin design team for the game. Owners can download it in July 2014 after its debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
It is based on the twin-turbo mid-engined racer frame offering up to 800bhp.
The Aston Martin DP-100 is created using many of the same techniques as applied in the development of Aston Martin production sports cars, such as hand sketches and 3D modelling, followed by full realisation in the virtual world. DP-100 provides an exceptional level of detail with a fully functioning suspension system and state-of-the-art electronics.
Commenting on the same, Design Director Marek Reichman said, “DP-100 has been an exciting and intensive project for the team here at Gaydon. Features such as car’s revolutionary ‘active aerodynamics’ are there not just as a way of enhancing form but also to support the car’s function in game.”
It took six months for the design engineers to complete the task. It was all started from the blank sheet of paper, and finally in the half course of year they had added the Vision Gran Turismo stable of race cars with a British brute.
As the designing is incomplete without inspirations, here also most of the aspirations were drawn from the CC100 Speedster Concept where they can be named as light blade rear lamps and more.
DP-100 was unveiled to the world at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the company of Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of Gran Turismo and President of Polyphony Digital.
“Vision Gran Turismo” is a 15th anniversary celebration hosted by Gran Turismo, car manufacturers and users around the globe. The cars presented will appear in Gran Turismo 6, and as those cars will be driven by more people, the festival will get bigger.
DP-100 will also be available to drive on the iconic Festival of Speed Hillclimb.
