Audi A3 cabriolet was earlier rumoured to be launching in India by December, now a source confirmed that it will be December 11, which will see the A3 convertible reaching Audi showrooms and going on sale.
As quoted, this entry-level convertible sedan of Audi will be imported as CBU (completely built-up units) the pricing is bounded of reaching the peak somewhere near Rs 50 lakh.
Comparing the sedan and convertible, noticeably the latter is chopped off not only from the roof but also those rear-doors.
Audi had garnered responses about it at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 where it was unveiled for the first time.
A3 cabriolets’ roof is made of cloth and it responds to the opening and closing command up to the speed limit of 50kmph. 18 seconds are needed to carry out this operation.
Inside the drivetrain, A3 cabriolet for India will host petrol engine of 1.8-litre producing 180bhp after mated to a 7-speed S-tronic dual clutch automatic transmission.
Hence, there aren’t changes reported in equipment levels as of the A3 sedan.
