A couple of days back we reported about the Audi teasing a new car, which we had assumed as “A3” in the first. But falling flat to our hopes, the Ingolstadt based carmaker has launched the Celebration Edition of A4 instead in order to give a blow to the C-Class Celebration Edition of Mercedes Benz.
However, the car is priced at Rs. 25.99 lakh ex-showroom pan India, which is a few notches cheaper than the standard A4. Hence, to compete it rightly, the feature list on the Celebration edition and the power of its engine is trimmed down. One can avail the car in ‘white’ colour only, no choices. Even features like sunroof, cruise control, wood inserted dashboard, 17-inch alloys (which is replaced by 16-inch alloys) electrically adjustable passenger seats and electrically adjusted side mirrors doesn’t make to the fray of car.
Coming to the powerplant, the ongoing 2.0L TDI (diesel) engine of the vehicle is now tuned in a lower state, 143hp and 320Nm is now deliverd against the 177hp and 380Nm of standard version.
To make a point over here, the Quattro is also been taken-off the Celebration Edition A4, so the traction to ‘front wheel’ is delivered via a CVT gearbox. The figures like 0-100kmph is reached only in 9.1 seconds, while the top whack is officially learnt to be called at 210kmph only.
Since, the Quattro is not existing on the vehicle, the A4 Celebration is bound to return fuel-efficiency of 16.55kmpl.
Meanwhile, the Audi has rolled it out in limited numbers, so the ones who need to buy a one must rush to the nearest showrooms. And those who we guess, are about to miss it due to their various issues, must not worry because Audi is also selling Q3 S (Sport) which too is a trimmed down and less powerful version of its entry-level SUV Q3, which is also tends to fall in the nearby price category.
