With an increase in its peak engine output and certain other styling changes, the Audi A6 facelift will be launched in India on September 20th this year. The biggest change in the facelifted A6 will be its redesigned headlights which are now surrounded with twin-lined Matrix LED lights that are also found on the recently launched RS6 Avant. However, this feature will only be seen in the top end variants only. Other changes include alloy wheels, redesigned tail lights and chrome linings on the edge of the boot lid.
On the inside as well certain changes have been made. For instance, the car will now have an in-built infotainment system, electronically controlled monitors, MMI interface, rear parking camera with night vision, adaptive cruise control as well as an LTE port.
Under the boot also the car gets a boost. Although it will still be powered by the same 2.0-liter TDI engine that powered its predecessor, but this time the engine will come with increased output. The facelift TDI will produce a peak power of 167bhp as compared to the 175bhp it produced earlier. Power to the wheels will be sent through a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox. The Audi Quattro four-wheel drive system will be a standard feature across all variants.
Once launched the Audi A6 facelift will take on the likes of BMW 5-series, Jaguar XF and the Mercedes Benz E-Class in the Indian market.
