Audi announced that they have witnessed a jump of 63% in the total sales of the year 2012, after comparing it with the overall numbers of 2011. Audi India managed to flourish its luxury car brand by selling 9,003 units in 2012, as compared to 5,511 units in 2011.
Indian wing of Audi had set the target of 8,000 cars for the last calendar year, but on seeing the surging demand, the luxury carmaker took it to a few notches higher to 8,600 cars. The four-ringed beauty managed to surpass that bulky target with an excessive sale of around 400 cars.
Michael Perschke, head of Audi India said “We have managed to exceed this target as well with a total sale of 9,003 cars. Our strong performance is a result of our diverse product portfolio, network expansion, unique marketing activities and after-sales service.”
Well the German carmaker has also introduced the five new models and variants on Indian asphalt in the last year – which is Audi TT, new Audi A3, Audi Q3, Audi S4 and Audi A8L 4.2 TDI. Perschke also added, “Our offering of compact luxury SUV – Audi Q3 and business luxury limousine, Audi A6 as well as the new Audi A4 have contributed greatly to this record sales performance.”
In 2011, Carmaker had developed its dealership network not only within the metro circles but also in Tier II and Tier III cities. Audi India confirmed that it has stretched its arms in 21 cities through 24 dealerships, to reach its vying customers throughout the nation.
