Just some days back we had viewed monster looking Audi is getting ready for the 24 hours LeMans. Now it surprised us with the news that it had won 2013 title of LeMans for Ingolstadt based auto brand that was cashing heavily on it since the inception. It took away the Toyota’s TS030 hybrid by a whole one lap and registered a second consecutive victory in the merciless race of French ground.
However, 2013 LeMans wasn’t so lucky for many of the competitors; because of the bad weather track was playing spoilsport for them and had caused some major accidents, out of which the Aston Martin’s pilot Allan Simonsen had lost his life in one of the mishaps.
The Audi e-tron Quattro had clocked 348 laps which roughly equates to 3,000 miles, and the miraculous guys who were there behind its wheels are named Loïc Duval, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish.
E-tron quarto is a diesel hybrid that houses a 3.7L V6 turbodiesel engine mated to a six speed sequential gearbox, whilst of a hybrid setup, and produces 500hp and 626 lb-ft of torque.
Well, the hybrid that everyone is waiting to get ripped off did its job fruitfully by storing the kinetic energy, via an electric flywheel, that were generated when the brakes applied and reused them at the boost of acceleration over 75mph directing more spin towards front wheels.

This marks another great success for Audi in which our hybrid system again prevailed and new technologies, which our customers will also benefit from in the future,” concluded Audi Chairman Rupert Stadler in an official statement.
