How about a utility car with performance packed up to the brim will sell across India? Will it really attract the niche? Those were the questions we asked ourselves when got to know about the launch of Audi RS6 Avant for India. The RS6 Avant is actually an estate version of A6 sedan packed dipped in performance. And to launch this one of its kind vehicle in the country, famous cricketer Virat Kohli was invited to the venue. Not to disagree, Mr. Kohli recently bought the fastest Audi R8 for nearly Rs 3 crore, so convincing him for this mustn’t have proven a difficult task to the PR executives.
Audi RS6 Avant in India is slotted as a halo product, and comes only in one variant, which uses a turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine to send the max power of 560bhp and peak torque of 700Nm, with the top-speed of 305kmph and 0-100kmph attained in 3.9seconds. How one can forget the famous Audi’s Quattro AWD system which receives the traction from an 8-speed tiptronic transmission.
Just like performance, A6 Avant is high on visual drama too, wears the same appealing Audi attire all over. One can find the latest set of LED headlamps on front, and regular family grille. Quattro lettering, wide air intake, and side skirts offer more of the appealing. The wheels measuring 20-inches as standard can go up to 21-inch in the optional list. Moreover, the RS6 Avant belongs to racing category, and so had developed some business traits for that. The feature of suspension lowering the body up to 20mm will help it to vroom with zest into corners and move out of the curves with eagerness.
Last but not the least, turn around the car to its back, and we were surprised to see the couple of huge exhausts slotted on the sides with a diffuser caved in-between, really posing this car as a bombastic wagon.
However, the huge price tag of Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) has a reason, as RS6 Avant will enter India as a CBU (completely built unit) so a large amount of duty on this car had made it to burgeon up to this.
