Audi has turned No.1 in the 2013 sales of Indian luxury car market. That said the results were due to the performance oriented audience who prefer Audi over others for sportscar-type performance from a daily horse.
Continuing the trail, SQ5 will be unveiled officially in India at Delhi Auto Expo 2014. The power-packed Q5 is presumed to boost the analytics for SUV fascinated Indians if launched. And will also ride the storm with customers who prefer Q7, as an added option with regards to price category.
Under hoods, the SQ5 breathes options of 3.0L twin-turbo V6 diesel and 3.0L twin-turbo V6 TFSI (petrol). Looking at our market portfolio, the diesel sounds better than the latter option.
The twin-turbo V6 of SQ5 churns out a breathtaking 317PS of power and 650Nm of mind-blowing torque. The SQ5 is 70PS more than the conventional Q5 TDI. The engineers at backend of Ingolstadt based-carmaker have gained this additional 70PS by enhancing the cooling artifacts of cylinder heads, and by changing the control times as well as strokes of the intake camshafts. In addition, the pistons too are adapted for the high performance significance. The jury of Audi’s car testing concluded SQ5 to be reaching 0-100kmph in just 5.1 seconds with keeping the pace to a maximum of 250kmph. This number of speeding is more than normal for a vehicle from the SUV category.
And if the SQ5 will officially get launched in India, then the highways here will never be the same again, nor even the bad roads, if chosen to drive a SQ5, a SUV with loads of power and astonishing technical figures. What say?
