Audi always tends to break technological grounds and captivate its aspirers with unique fragments that remain untouched by other carmakers. This time in connection to the same, Audi has unveiled an Android-based tablet called ‘Smart Display’ at the 2014 CES in Las Vegas.
The Audi tablet measures 10.2 inches and performs function on the Android 4.3 platform, which apparently can be enhanced to Kit Kat or other version at the time of reaching dealerships. Tegra 4 processor from Nvidia, is the party-basher for Audi in the technicalities (of tablet).
Ingolstadt based carmaker says its tablet can perform actions from “DVD and TV streaming to remote access in the car to multimedia content, and from control of the radio to route planning for the navigation system” in a jiff.
Smart Display connects to the Audi’s car bay via a WLAN link to the MMI navigation, plus with Audi connect. The complete car data then can be visible on the screen alongside the Radio and media features.
Audi owners can connect to the internet in their car with UMTS or LTE speeds via Audi connect on the tablet.
Audi confirmed, the Smart Display is crash-proof and is designed mingling the brushed aluminum with the premium character of Audi.
