Recently, we saw some new unveils and launches in the four wheeler Automobile Sector. New entrants in India like MG Motors, Kia have already entered, while Citroen announced that they will be entering in India in early 2020.
Husqvarna, the popular Swedish two wheeler manufacturer confirmed that they will be entering India with the two models which are based on KTM platform by revealing them during India Bike Week 2019.
The India Bike Week 2019 saw Bajaj Auto launching the premium Swedish motorcycle brand Husqvarna Motorcycles in India. The maiden Husqvarna products in India will be the Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250, with the two going on sale from February 2020 onwards.
The Husqvarna products will be sold in India from the existing KTM dealerships. Husqvarna is a part of the KTM AG group, where Bajaj Auto holds a 48 per cent stake.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen and Vitpilen are bespoke Swedish motorcycle. The 250 cc machines feature a fuel injected, liquid cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine that produces impressively punchy torque at the highest levels of engine refinement. Thanks to a compact chassis design, WP suspension and premium quality components, the Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 ensure agile & dynamic performance and handling in an urban environment.
The Svartpilen 250 has a more rugged design and upright stance. It comes with dual purpose tyres and is capable of taking both on and off-road journeys. The Vitpilen 250 has a sportier design, clip on handlebars and a front lean riding position.
The expected price for Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250 in India would be around Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom).
