Recently, Tata announced that they will be launching the electric version of one of their popular car, Nexon. Joining the trend is the famous two wheeler brand in the Country, Bajaj Auto. Bajaj Auto is going to unveil new electric mobility brand, Urbanite, this month. Bajaj Auto is all geared up to showcase its first electric offering, which might just be called the e-Chetak, on October 16, 2019.
The new e-scooter, which will be a part of Bajaj’s new Urbanite sub-brand, will take on the Ather 450, by Ather Energy. The Urbanite brand is likely to be a new division under Bajaj Auto and will spawn electric scooters, marking the brand’s re-entry in this space after nearly two decades.
The iconic Chetak scooter continues to have strong brand recall across India.The new e-scooter will compete with electric offerings from Ather Energy, Okinawa and 22 Motors.
