The 2012 Paris International Motor show has been a proud platform to present a range of Bentleys including Mulsanne saloon, Bentley Continental GT3 race car concept, Continental GT speed performance, but the most appealing was the Bentley Continental GT3 concept which revealed automaker’s intention to move back to motorsports by the end of 2013.
Chairman and Chief Executive, Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber speaking at the Bentley stand at Paris said that the Paris Motor Show is an important date in the Bentley’s calendar. The same moment defined the launch of the Continental GT concept ten year ago, which marked the commencement of company’s product led revival. He also added that even after ten years, the launch of the new model on display and announcement to return to the circuit remarks the progress made by the Bentley during the time span and the strength of the brand.
The new concept is based on the Bentley Continental GT3 concept Speed, which one of the fastest on-road Bentley and exploits the remarkable performance, incredible high-speed stability and well established durability of the Bentley brand. The new concept has been specially configured for the racetrack performance. The vehicle features a rear wheel drive layout, ample aero-dynamic package and extensive motor sport hardware, the GT3 targets the Bentley’s repatriation to the racetrack by the end of 2013.
