Premium carmaker Bentley has unveiled its Bentayga SUV ahead of its global debut at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. Incidentally, this is the first SUV made by Bentley and is production version of the EXP 9 F concept car that it showcased back in 2012.
The Bentley Bentayga uses the same MLB structure that is used by the Volkswagen Touraeg, the upcoming Porsche Cayenne and the Audi Q7. On the outside, the do come across as somewhat similar to Volkswagen SUVs with design features wheel arch flares and rear overhang. At the front the car has split LED headlights, mesh grille and the Bentley logo. On the sides, chrome outlines can be seen on the windows and on the side skirts. In the back, the car has C-shaped tail lights, a sloping rear screen and a ridge just above the number plate.
On the inside, the premium Bentley theme can be seen all over. The Bentayga interior sees extensive use of chrome on its inside as well. Apart from that wooden dash and fine leather upholstery completes the premium feel. Other features on the inside include a touchscreen infotainment system by Naim, four-zone climate control etc.
All this luxury in the Bentayga is powered by 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine capable of churning out a massive 600bhp of peak power and an even more impressive 900Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic and AWD transmission. It takes the Bentayga just 4 seconds to reach 100kmph from a complete standstill. Top speed of this SUV is 301kmph.
The Bentley Bentayga will hit the international markets early next year. As far as Indian launch of the car is concerned, we expect it to hit the Indian shores sometime by the middle of next year.
