Today, BMW launched the 6-Series Gran Coupe facelift in India for a starting price of Rs 1.15 crore. The launch took place at BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2015 in national capital Delhi, and the car was rolled out as a curtain raiser for the show. 640d Eminence and 640d Design Pure Experience are the two variants made available to buyers in India.
On the tweaked side of car, facelifted 6-Series holds nothing new except for some minute cosmetic changes. Firstly, the front grille has reduced the number of slats from 10 to 9 for better cooling of engine. Bumpers at front and rear are tweaked; the tail lights are placed horizontally alongside the side indicators. A chrome slat on the boot lid makes it look wider than before.
The full LED headlights and fog lamps along with new set of alloy wheels do make up to this facelift model.
One can also experience the newness inside cabin. As moved to the front seat, couple of trick that surface are the two-tone leather upholstery and head-up display (HUD). In fact, gloss finishes are reported around audio system and climate control. One can also find improvement in quality of the audio system if spent some good time with it.
For the package under its bonnet, BMW India has used the same inline 6-cylunder engine to send the output of 313bhp and 630Nm of torque after mated to a 8-speed dual clutch transmission. The said power figures make it go for 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds, and attain an electronically limited top-speed of 250km/h. The xDrive AWD (all-wheel drive) is offered as standard with this car.
Internationally, BMW had also introduced 6-Series Convertible facelift, but did not wish to launch in India as of now.
