BMW has unveiled its latest BMW 8-Series model at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The two-door coupe was last seen way back in 1999.
The new 8-Series has been designed to ‘offer performance of a Porsche 911 with the luxury of a Mercedes Benz S-Class.’ The 8-Series is being looked at BMW’s ticket at the super luxury coupe segment.
The 8-Series will initially be offered with two engine options – 4.4-litre 532HP V8 petrol engine and 3.0-litre 320HP in-line six-cylinder diesel. The range topping M850i xDrive can achieve 100kmph from standstill in just 3.7 seconds, but surprisingly has a top speed of only 250kmph. Both the versions will come with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive.
