i8 is a great package from the bay of BMW which is about to enter the production by April 2014, but the German carmaker has said, it has sold out the first lot of i8 in the initial booking stage itself.
“Demand for the BMW i8 is already exceeding the planned production volume during ramp-up,” said BMW in a statement on Monday, without giving a more specific figure for how many cars will be produced in the first phase of production.
However, it can be noted that the specific number of cars sold may turn up when the deliveries will commence in June 2014.
Not only it has the electrical paraphrase, apart from an electric motor, BMW i8 also had a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder engine producing a peak power of up to 375bhp. The car can go from 0 to 100kmph in span of 4.5 seconds because of the lightweight aluminium and carbon-fiber construction.
To be noted precisely, the hybrid Bimmer is going to set a new benchmark in the industry when it will set the balls rolling out from the factory. We take, the officials at Lamborghini and Ferrari would also be eager to see that strongly competitive material coming out from a German manufacturing floor can do what sort of wonders in the current scenario.
