Introduced at the recently concluded Indian Auto Expo in Delhi, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe will be launched in the first week of April. The car made its debut at Detroit Auto Show in 2013. It is the performance-oriented version of 6 Series Gran Coupe, which is already available in India. To be brought as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), it is expected to be priced around Rs. 1.50 crore. Motivation for the M6 Gran Coupe comes from a V8 4.4 liter powerplant with 7-speed M double clutch gearbox with Drivelogic, active M differential and M TwinPower Turbo technology. The similar engine also powers the M5. This engine is good for producing earth-shattering 560 horsepower with yielding 680 newton meters of peak torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in the time range of 4.2 seconds, reaching the top speed of 250km/h.
The BMW M6 Gran Coupe was born from painstaking attention to both inner and outer beauty. Behind the sophisticated lines lives a V8 with 560 horses just waiting to be put to work. The intimate cabin is decidedly driver-focused and trimmed in abundance of leather and other high-end materials, including plentiful carbon fiber accents. The unique headliner treatment pairs Alcantara simulated suede with leather in a design that follows the contours of the carbon-fiber roof. In terms of styling, it features a sporty body kit, comprising of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, 20 inch M light alloy wheels in double spoke design, redesigned bumpers and prominently flared wheel arches. Adding more to the sportiness is the M signature – twin exhaust tailpipes positioned on the outer edges of the rear apron, and a diffuser made from CFRP.
Closest competitors for the M6 Gran Coupe in India will be Audi RS7.
