BMW has finally unveiled the M4 Coupe concept. The car is scheduled to make its first public appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. This concept talks about the actual production version of this coupe. The concept exhibits the “BMW M philosophy in ideal form”.
The company has not revealed any info regarding the concept model but the car surely shows an exotic exterior along with an aggressive bumper in the front and a power dome hood. The car also endorses ventilated fenders in the front, a lid spoiler integrated with the trunk and 20 inch bespoke wheels. The wheels also show a dual tone finish.
The car is also using carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) components in its framework which include the rear diffuser, roof and a front splitter. Use of CFRP is definitely to cut down on the car’s kerb weight.
The company is being tight lipped about the car engine’s specs although they have said that it will be a high performance car which will produce immense power. The reports which were revealed earlier have specified that the car will be equipped with a 6 cylinder engine of 3 liter capacity. This engine will offer an output of around 450 bhp and a maximum torque of 550 Nm or 405 lb ft. This is pretty modest for a “high performance” engine.
The Chairman of BMW M GmbH, Mr. Dr Friedrich, Nitschke said that “The BMW Concept M4 Coupe reflects the BMW M philosophy in ideal form: It combines motor racing genes and unrestricted everyday suitability in a highly emotional overall concept. For four generations, the BMW M3 has put motor racing on the road and the BMW Concept M4 Coupe consistently continues to pursue this fundamental idea.”
