The German automaker has announced that the 2015 BMW X4 will be introduced on 6th March. While we don’t have any official pics; however the automaker has teased its latest sports utility vehicle in a short video ahead of its debut later this week. It is a new compact crossover sports utility vehicle, which will share engines with X3, including an array of four and six cylinder in both diesel and gas format. It will be slightly bigger than X3; however smaller than X5. Refined details, sculpted contours and striking proportion as far as the eye can see with the BMW X4, the X6 Sports Activity Coupe success story blazes a trail into the new vehicle class.
The all-new BMW X4 exudes dynamics from all angles. Thanks to its powerful rear and front with short overhangs, extended glass surfaces, long wheelbase and wedge shaped silhouette, this concept send out a message even before it is left the blocks; it is a vehicle which is simply raring to hit the road. In 2013, the automaker revealed a concept version of X4 and it is likely that the production version will remain very close to the original concept.
Expect the X4 to have its American debut next month at New York Motor Show before it goes on sale later in 2014. The base model will be propelled by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is good for producing 240 horsepower; whereas the range-topping X4 will be powered by an inline 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine that’s good for pumping out 300 horsepower.
The automaker is yet to confirm if an M version is in the works.
