Riches have their own way of flaunting wealth. Out of them, some buys a Rolls-Royce, while some buy Lamborghini and Ferraris, and the remaining few look out for something that’s conventional but assorted. Here come the special protection cars in picture, zeroing this gap BMW unveiled the armoured version of X5 for the Moscow Motor Show 2014.
High on security, X5 offers protection to the VR6 level – gunfire from conventional automatic rifles can be avoided in it. Toughened glass, joints and other connecting panels are strengthened to withstand the tough-most scenarios.
BMW has used the xDrive50i version of X5, where under the bonnet technicalities are powered by a V8 of 4.4L of 449bhp. The 0-100 is attained in 4.9 seconds despite weighing 2250kg on the scale.
On the other front, special X5 is aided with modified suspension, new switches on the central console.
Security Plus X5 is informed to go in production at Mexico besides the standard version.
