The centrepiece of BMW’s SUV line up, the X5 M is now available for sale in India. The car is the beefed up edition of the regular X5 and comes at a price tag of Rs.1.55 crore.
The car has tons of features which includes the 4.4-litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine which develops 575bhp in terms of power as well as 750Nm in terms of torque. The M5 and the M6 are also powered by the same engine and is paired with an 8 speed automatic gearbox. The car also comes with an all wheel drive and takes a mere 4.2 seconds to go from 0-100kmph which is unbelievably fast considering the size of this beast.
The car looks quintessential M class too with an aggressive front bumper, quad tail pipes as well as large air intakes. The car has extreme street credentials and carries itself across brilliantly. It has an M leather steering wheel, aluminium gearshift paddles, climate control, park distance control, aluminium interior trim strips and a whole host of accessories which set it apart from almost all competition.
Alongside the X5, BMW has also released the X6 M and both will be looking to break into the high end SUV segment here in India. The cars will be taking on the likes of the GL63 AMG from Mercedes Benz and the Cayenne Turbo from Porsche here in India.
