Maruti Suzuki has launched a BS6 compliant Swift at Rs.5.14 lakhs. But the BS6 compliant Swift has been launched only in the petrol guise where it would be powered by an upgraded 1.2-litre, four- cylinder K12B engine.
But the upgradation has been done only to comply with the more stringent BS6 emission norms and there’s no change in the output and torque numbers for the engine. Peak power and torque continues to be 83hp and 113Nm respectively, but the car does get slightly improve mileage at 21.2kpl.
The diesel variant has not been upgraded to BS6 standards for now. The new Swift also gets some added safety features to meet AIS-145 safety norms and these includeco-driver seal belt reminder, rear parking sensors and a speed alert system as standard.
