Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2021 Xpulse 200T with an updated engine, now compliant with the BS6 emission norms. The new BS6-compliant Hero Xpulse 200T is now priced at Rs 1.13 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). This is Rs 19,000 more than its BS4 predecessor.
The new motorcycle remains identical to its predecessor in every way, apart from the updated engine. The Hero Xpulse 200T as mentioned before, uses an updated version of the same 200cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine.
It produces 18.1bhp at 8500rpm and 16.15Nm of peak torque at 6500rpm, paired with a standard five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle now also comes with fuel-injection technology, replacing the carburettor on the previous BS4 model.
This ensures the BS6 compliant Xpulse 200T is now more fuel-efficient and better refined than its predecessor. Another difference between the new BS6 Hero Xpulse 200T and it’s older BS4 model is the weight.
The new motorcycle now weighs 154kg, which is 4kg higher than its previous model. Apart from the above-mentioned changes and updates, the new BS6 Hero Xpulse 200T remains unchanged otherwise.
The motorcycle carries forward the same design, features and equipment. It even has the same mechanical components as before. Talking about the cosmetic features on the motorcycle, the BS6-compliant Hero Xpulse 200T comes packed with equipment.
These include LED headlamp with integrated LED DRLs, a fully-digital LCD instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity offering turn-by-turn navigation and many more.
The BS6 Hero Xpulse 200T uses standard telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step adjustable suspension setup at the rear. Braking is handled by a 276mm disc at the front and a 220mm disc at the rear, supported by single-channel ABS as standard.
Hero MotoCorp has finally brought in the tarmac-oriented version of its Xpulse 200 model in the Indian market. The new Hero Xpulse 200T rivals the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the KTM Duke 200.
