Organized at the Taj Coromandel Hotel in down-town Chennai, the inception edition of the Madras Exotic Car Show was all set to wow the car enthusiasts of Chennai and around with the metro’s supercar owners, exotic machines on four wheels and aficionados coming together for this event. This event also marked the beginning of the Madras Exotic Car Club. All the cars were in the premises on display before they were being beckoned off to the Madras Motor Race Track. It was a very attractive sight to see the cars move through the narrow streets, which were packed like sardines, while shocking the bystanders and the people using the road on a Sunday morning with the powerful roar of the multiple-cylinders of these magnificent four-wheelers many a times, the traffic came to halt just to see them pass through.
Once the group reached the racing circuit, a conciliatory drag competition commenced, which allowed the owners of supercars to feel the high-end limit of their possessions’ performance in a controlled and safe environment, built for these kinds of activities.
Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 458, Jaguar XKR and Aston Martin Rapide with many other cars of BMW M, Audi R8s, Porsches and an absolutely new Mercedes C63 AMG were part of this event. The super luxury segment was led by few Bentley Continentals and Rolls Royce.
