Netherlands is undoubtedly securing better position in the 2014 FIFA World Cup match after match; but here on this news page the ‘Netherlands’ had appeared for altogether a different purpose. The Carice cars of Dutch have joined the likes of Vencer and Spyker as the newest niche car manufacturer from the country.
The company’s first model, the Carice Mk1, is said to have launched with prices starting from €26,620 (or £21,358).
Carice Mk1 is an open-top retro-styled electric car and production is limited to ten units.
It tips the scale for less than 350kg, and is offered in two states of tune: 20bhp & 54bhp. The latter version of motor (of 54bhp) can also be specified with a range-extending engine. The top-speed of it is claimed at 62mph.
On a single charge, Carice says its Mk1 can go up to 70 miles, and can be fully recharged in just two hours.
For the junior, the niche Dutch carmaker has made available special version of the car with power reduced to 5bhp for drivers aged between 16 and 18 years.
