Chevrolet has unveiled its upcoming Tralblazer SUV and Spin MPV in India. The Trailblazer will be launched somewhere around October later this year, while the Spin MPV will be launched sometime early next year. Once launched, the Chevrolet Trailblazer will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavour.
The Trailblazer is based on Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck and is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs.25 lakh. The Trailblazer, first showcased in India three years back in 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, is expected to be powered by 2.8-liter diesel engine capable of churning out 200bhp of peak power and 500Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to both a manual and automatic transmission depending on the variant one is buying.
As far as the Spin MPV is concerned, there are rumours that General Motors might just replace the Enjoy with Spin. It will come in both diesel and petrol variants with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Once launched, the Chevrolet Spin will be competing for space against the likes of Renault Lodgy, Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga.
Apart from unveiling these two new cars, General Motors has also announced a 1 billion USD investment in the country to firm up its position in one of world’s largest car market.
