There isn’t any commercialization on Duster in India, but in UK the SUV has entered the light commercial vehicle fraternity with the launch of a new trim. There, the model falls under the badge of Dacia, which happened to be a low-cost brand sold under the hat of Renault.
The new trim based on 4×4 and 4×4 version, tagged as ‘Duster Commercial’ holds amendments inside the cabin rather on exteriors. Amusingly, the owner will not find ‘rear seats’, which is now converted into a ‘flat bed’ made of plastic employed with anchor hooks. The bed offers 1,150 litres of cargo space for 4×2 buyers and 1,000 litres for 4×4. Measuring more than over 1.4 metres in length and approximately one metre on width, the deck is built to handle the payload capacity of 550 kg.
Power is sent exclusively from the notorious 1.5-litre diesel engine named dCi of 107hp. The price of £9,595 excluding VAT and other charges toss it up for a lucrative buy, where the buyers will get deliveries in June.
Thus, the unveiling of Duster Commercial took place at Commercial Vehicle Show of UK last week. And since the company has sold more than 16,000 units of Duster from the time it had launched in January 2013, there aren’t any exception this model will just boost the temper of the light commercial vehicle. Owners will use it a small tool-box for the daily needs, where the price too aren’t bothersome.
