The wait is now over, and Indians can book their Datsun GO officially by paying an amount of Rs. 11,000 at the dealerships. Deliveries are stated to commence in March 2014. We believe that the official price is still not announced and the Nissan’s sub-brand is quite keen on launching it under Rs. 4 lakh bracket.
For the starting ventures, Nissan has planned only the petrol variants, not even the murmurs of diesel ones doing the rounds, which is said to be sold with 1.2-litre HR12DE-3 cylinder petrol motor of Micra Active delivering the output in combination with a five-speed manual gearbox. The low-cost Japanese car brand is claiming fuel efficiency of 20.6kpl with a comprehensive two-year/unlimited km warranty on the hatchback GO.
Production of GO is slated to begin at Renault-Nissan’s factory at Oragadam, near Chennai. The Datsun GO will be a direct competitor to the Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon and such.
Hope so, some more exciting news may surface soon. Till then be satisfied with the plunge that Datsun will be rolling out the first car in four paint shade that were showcased at Delhi Auto Expo 2014.
